Product Details

Icarus, also known as MACS J1149+2223 Lensed Star 1, is incredibly unique because it is the furthest star that has been seen in a regular star state. It is said to be 9 billion light-years away. Icarus in Greek mythology had wings built out of wax and feathers, and when he flew too close to the sun, the wings melted and Icarus fell into the sea. I chose Icarus as the name of this pine tar soap because it is unwavering and a thing of the past. Pine tar soap was incredibly common for our ancestors to use, however it is hard to find now. Much like our ancestors, I am still utilizing lard from my heritage pastured pigs, along with coconut and olive oils. There is no scent added, but the pine tar gives it a lovely smell that we know you will enjoy.

Scent Notes

Icarus has a faint smell of pine, without being overwhelming. Think of a campfire in the woods on a winter day, surrounded by lovely evergreen trees.

Soap Notes

All of my soaps are lovingly crafted in my home. The lard comes from my own heritage breed pastured pigs and I render the fat down in house. After that, I carefully craft small batches of soap that are cured for a minimum of four weeks. All bars are approximately 4 oz.

We recommend you test soap on a small patch of your skin if you're new to handmade soap. Let soap dry completely between uses to prolong the life of your bar.

Your bars may vary slightly from what is pictured.
